Character Name: Vidana de Vadarta
Character Canon: original
Character Age: 123 physically; she's more like 20 mentally.
Canon Point: Not long after meeting the demi-demon Tessa.
History: Vidana is the youngest daughter (out of 7 children) in a family of high-ranking, very respected aristocratic elves. Despite knowing her way perfectly well around that very stuffy and formal life, she hates almost everything to do with it, and after a brief stint of trying desperately to please her parents (she wasn't very good at it), she decided to give up and take things in the opposite direction. Hilarious outrage is more the name of the game these days. She's currently the black sheep of the family, frequently kicked out for increasingly long periods of time, and has driven her exasperated parents almost to their wit's end. She's most recently run into a newly-made demi-demon named Tessa, and has decided to help her sort her life out because that sounded novel.
Inventory: Her expensive, flashy rapier, and a perfectly normal horse named Buttercup.
Powers:
- Phasing (new power): Vidana can make herself insubstantial to phase through any material. This can extend to an item she's wearing or holding, or one other person. Becoming substantial again in the middle of something else can break/rupture the thing being passed through, with no harm done to Vidana. She can be knocked out of phasing by physical or mental pain.
- Light (canon power): All elves have a little bit of inherent magic, and Vidana's takes the form of being able to generate a little glowing light on command. It's enough to shed light on about 10 feet of darkness.

Personality —
Vidana is, as previously mentioned, the black sheep of the family. She tried for a while to be otherwise, but would airily tell anyone who asked that it simply wasn't meant to be. She wasn't clever enough to be a part of the Vadarta Estate businesses, nor sophisticated enough for upper crust elven society, and she was far too emotional and impulsive to be anything but an uncouth embarrassment. When she finally gave up on meeting her family's expectations, she took a steep nosedive into embracing everything taboo. She threw herself into sexy indifference, embracing hedonistic pleasures that most elves consider horribly crass, and utterly trashed any reputation she might once have had. If she was going to fail at being a rich and fancy elf, she was going to do it on purpose and in style.
Nowadays Vidana seems pretty basic and straightforward: anyone can tell you she just wants to get laid and have a great time. She's a party kid through and through, and it suits her just fine to give the impression that there's nothing more to her than that. Most of the time she even believes it, too. Unfortunately for her, rejection from her family means she's quietly desperate to be liked and appreciated for her own merits, and will go to pretty embarrassing lengths for someone that she wants to be liked by. So far her list of "people she wants to be liked by" is very small (childhood best friend, one of her sisters, new pal Tessa) and unsurprisingly, they're the ones that don't care about her title, money, or influence.
Under the hedonism and sensationalized rebellion, there's a quiet little part of Vidana that gives a shit. This part loves animals, because animals don't care who you are or what you've done, only how you treat them. This part keeps her kind to the servant class, who receive the same scorn and dismissal that she did, back when she was still attempting to fit in. This part met a scared and confused demi-demon and decided to hop aboard and help her out, because no one else was going to do it. Vidana may largely ignore this part of herself, but she can never quite turn it off: she's a sucker for a sad story and can't quite turn a blind eye to suffering, like so many people in her life have done to her.

Areas of Interest / Brainstorming:
- I would absolutely love to get Vidana involved in villainy; she'd be the antihero type who isn't out to hurt people, but loves the thrill of breaking rules and getting away with it.
- Absolutely GOT to give her some rivalries; she'd love the attention and focus, whether it's positive or negative. It's all pretty much the same to her.
- I'm also interested in getting her in over her head; either involving her in something darker than she wants to go, or just getting her in deep trouble and having to face stern consequences for her irreverence.
- Absolutely want to see this rich girl go broke and realize you have to have a steady job in the real world.
- And finally, I'm interested in the inevitable real connections she'll form with other characters, as they'll be among her first. How novel.
